Saint Joseph's Catholic Church hands out more than 200 Thanksgiving meals

Nov. 19, 2018

PUEBLO COUNTY – A church in Pueblo County is making sure people in need have a meal for Thanksgiving.

Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Blende handed out more than 200 meals today to people who would be without one.

This event of giving is a tradition that started back in the 1970s to help people who couldn't afford a holiday meal.

"We really enjoy this program," said organizer Betty Carlino. "I wouldn't give it up for the world because you have such a great feeling after wanting to help all these people that come in and need help and knowing that you can help them."

The church will also be handing out meals for Christmas.
